She is a physician-scientist with an interest in mechanisms of chronic airway disease and interstitial lung disease. She has studied critical molecular pathways involved in how lungs respond to and protect themselves against cigarette smoking. She was awarded ATS travel award prize at 2010 ATS conference. She has authored more than 30 papers published in journals, including 12 in international peer-review journals. She is the principal investigator on 10 grants, including the National Natural Science Foundation of China（NSFC），National key R & D program precision medicine research and key projects of Shanghai Municipal Health Bureau. She is the editorial board of International Journal of Respiration.
